Buddhist Masked Dances at Tawang Monestary

Some images from the Cham dances at Tawang monastery. The Monpa people are well known for their distinctive masks, and we see some very classic examples here. Most notable is the Garuda dancer, whose remarkable costume has mechanical wings, that he causes to spread with strings at the waist.
