dedicated to the tribal peoples and cultures of the North-East
region of India. Fantastic content including information and
maps, as well as archival and more recent photos of people and
ethnographic items. Among many worthwhile projects and
objectives, they will eventually have a museum dedicated to the
North Eastern states. Highly recommended!

Another good
resource for Asian art lovers, there are a number of excellent
articles, including several on the arts and culture of the
Himalayas and surrounding areas.
Himalayan Art
An excellent
non-commercial site exhibiting an extensive collection of
Himalayan art from a variety of sources. Predominately Vajrayana
Buddhist in orientation, it is a well maintained site sure to be
a valued resource for Himalayan art lovers.

The link
will take you to the "Crafts of the North East" section of the
IGNCA web site. There is quite a bit of basic info here on
the main craft traditions of the 7 states in India's old N.E.
frontier.

A site that
is as rich, diverse, convoluted, idiosyncratic, vast,
overwhelming, brilliant and deeply funky as India itself.
Packed full of info and photographs. A must visit for people
interested in any aspect of Indian culture. Sections on tribals,
nature, religion, weaponry, women's issues, Ravi Varma, and
about everything else. Excellent.

furniture and accessories. Knowledgeable and well traveled

An organization you
can trust, doing essential work in Nepal. Crusading for the
prevention of girl trafficking, rescue, rehabilitation and
reintegration of survivors of trafficking. This is a major
problem in Nepal. Be informed. You can also make
donations that will be effectively used to help reduce
suffering.

This is the web site
of Dr. Robert Svoboda. Author of the seminal Aghora trilogy, as
