A powerful mask from the far west of Nepal, this piece has the minimalist carving that so many collectors seek in the Himalayan tribal masks.  The old worn adze marks on the surface give the mask an almost "faceted" appearance when the light plays off the surface.  The deposits of pitch and the nails reveal that the piece once had facial hair including moustache,  beard and probably eyebrows as well. This is a powerful piece, in good condition with fine patina.
