Detail Photos
This mask is
distinguished by its metal dental work - a feature that is seen
with some regularity in middle hills masks. The style is kind
of a "bridge" for the top front teeth. The metal is Aluminum,
secured with nails. The mask has good patina considering it is
probably in the 50 - 70 year range. This one is also somewhat
menacing in overall appearance - with its leering grin, and
fairly crude carving. Originated with the Gurung people. |
