Detail Photos
A beautiful example of the Humla dance masks from far West
Nepal. The Humla people live in a majestic but hard, high
altitude environment. The area is a cross roads of ancient
cultural paths and the Buddhist and Hindu influence melds with
local folk religions revering ancestors and local deities.
This Humla style of Himalayan mask is very distinctive and is probably one
of the most readily recognizable genres of Nepal masks.
