Detail Photos
A rustic middle hills mask that embodies
nicely the tribal aesthetic of the sub-himalayan area of Nepal.
Minimalist styling with animal fur on the chin and forehead, and
indications in the form of old nails that the upper lip and
eyebrow areas once had similar animal hide facial hair. There is
also a metal piece forming a third-eye and old metal teeth, many
only partially present now. Nice patination has developed and
the distinctive scent of a remote Himalayan village house hold.
A great, and above all genuine animist mask from Nepal.
Condition is good, but there are cracks in the wood in the chin
area... these "character marks" clearly visible in one of
the accompanying detail photos.
