nice example of the Naga head hunter's cap, woven of rattan
strips, and embellished with goat hair, and boar tusks.
Absolutely genuine. This would be a fine addition to anyone's
ethnographic collection - especially if you collect head hunter
regalia.
The photo below is
isolated from some video I shot in a remote Naga village. Now
days, except for on festival occasions it is mostly the elders
of the tribe who still dress traditionally on a day to day
basis. He is wearing a hat that is similar in style and
construction to the one on auction here.
