Detail Photos
This is an ingenious
piece of utilitarian tribal craftsmanship that is a rare work of
beauty. This style of woven back pack with precipitation
repellent long grass attached is common to a number of tribal
groups in Central and Eastern Arunachal. The Tagin, Nishi,
Adi and Hill Miri and even Apatani, use this style of pack.
This one is in great shape and the woven cane has evolved a fine
patina.
