Another
beautiful old shaman phurba with classic shamanic styling.
The phurba deity faces on this one have the haunting expression
and presence of some of the himalayan masks. The grip is
rendered in gorgeous curvilinear patterns that have taken on the
softened edges and deep patina that we find in the finer
examples of this genre. The tripartite blade has
intertwined Naga descending from the mouth of the makara or
garuda. The back side of the blade shows Naga intertwined
around a shamanic trisul (trident).
